A rapper affiliated with Meek Mills' crew has died. Lil Snupe,
a Louisiana artist recently signed to Meek's DreamChaser's Records
imprint was reportedly gunned down, and passed away today (June 20). He
was 18.
Details behind the shooting are unclear, but Snupe's manager confirmed
the death early this morning. "The call I got this morning is un real
RIP 2 my Lil n---a," he wrote.
In the confusion over whether or not the teen officially died, Meek frantically tweeted out a message, clearly believing the youngster was still alive. "Tell lil snupe hit me up right now!!!"
In April, Snupe told MTV News
about signing with the Philly native's imprint. "He was in van, they
was finns pull off. And I went and knocked on the van, on the window,"
he said. "They let the window down, grabbed the mixtape and it was like
10 minutes later, 20 minutes later they called me."
Joining Dreamchasers Records added the teen to fellow acts on the roster Jahlil Beats, Lee Mazin, Louie V Butta, and Goldie.
Sadly, Snupe's last tweet was only 14 hours ago writing, "i Hold it Down 4 Louisiana."
