Island Adventures

Tet Paul by Juelle Cadette

Heaven.

That is the best way I could describe the top of the trail. The view of the Pitons from this height is so spectacular. If you have never had an appreciation for beauty of St Lucia, this will surely change your mind. The trail starts with a brief description of the local floral found around the island, then to the Amerinidian styled hut where you are taught how to make 'cassava bread' yummy!

Its from them the hike begins. Not so much of a hassle really, what you use in leg motion your eyes make up for that because every single level you pass, it hits you, the smells of pineapple and rosemary, the sight of Chateau Belair, the view of distant neighboring islands....but the mosquitoes !!!!

This is worth it, if you are a sinner that is !!!!

Tree Top Adventures by Juelle Cadette

I have never been a nature girl.

I am afraid of heights, I can't swim, neither can I climb a wall or ride a bike. Point is when it comes to doing these out-doorsy things I suck at it. I came face to face with this zip-lining thing and honestly I wasn't too keen on it, but things gotta get done. My tour guide explained the whole procedure and made it sound pretty easy but in my mind, I placed a mental block on it assuming that it would be impossible for me to conquer this 'harness and rope' device.

So here goes.... I have to put on a brave face for the camera.

3...2...1 I shouted out loud as I prepared to take the swing across to the next plaform and let me tell you, it was exhilarating. Zipping through the trees, I felt like Tarzan reincarnated 1000 times. The cool air hitting your face, the smell of the rain on the leaves, I had to do this again. Next Platform, to the next platform to the next one...

My new vice is ziplining....
